Vegan Flax Egg
Flax egg is an ideal substitute for plant-based eaters when baking. It is versatile, adds moisture, nutritition, and binds mixtures together. Flaxseeds are very hard and I suggest using ground flaxseeds as the whole seeds are not ideal for absorption. This recipe makes equivalent to one egg, so you need to adjust this recipe to the total number of eggs you require.
Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp. ground flaxseed
- 3 tbsp. water
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, combine the ground flaxseed and water.
- Stir well to thoroughly mix the flaxseed with the water.
- Let the mixture sit for about 5-10 minutes to thicken and become gel like. After about 5 minutes, you’ll notice that the mixture has a gooey, egg-like consistency. Use in your favorite recipes as a substitube for eggs.
