What to do when you have Period Acne

So many women suffer from acne when they are on their period. It can wreak havoc on one’s self-esteem, often causing an internal war against the body. If acne seems to come on a week or two before your period, your hormones may be responsible. Higher levels of testosterone and cortisol trigger oil-producing glands to jump into overdrive, and that can cause acne.

Why do some women get period acne and others don’t? That’s a good question! Acne indicates that there’s stuff happening behind the scenes that may need your attention. It isn’t just hormone fluctuations or stress. It is often a sign that your body needs support balancing and clearing hormones. At the root of many period problems are hormone imbalances.
