GEWWC 2018 Review

The theme this year “Live Your Purpose”, echoed throughout the conference among the speakers and seminars. The founder, Farrah La Ronde-Hutchison, shared her story on how she created and built the conference over the past 10 years. Keynote speaker Dr. Mary Oz shared on building emotional strength to manage and build upon your ultimate relationships. In changing our focus, we are able to affect our physical and mental state positively.

Psychiatrist Dr. Stacy Yearwood conducted a phenomenal seminar on mental health. She addressed the three main factors which affect our mental health; biological factors (genes), phycological life factors ( traumas) and environmental factors like (pollutants or poverty).

Dr. Alan Sherr from the Northport Wellness Center delivered a captivating seminar on discovering optimal health from the inside out. During his seminar Dr. Sherr addressed the guests on becoming active participants in their own health care.

Our Women of Honor ceremony celebrated 7 women from around the world who exemplify leadership and promote health and wellness in their communities. This year we established our first ever GAIA award which was given to Esther Karimi Gitobu. A Kenyan woman who embraced her story and moved from her home country to Cambodia where she led and continue to lead young women in education and local artistry since 2002.
